Our Mission
Jumping Jacks Day Nursery believes nursery education as an important foundation. Our aim is to provide a firm base for the children’s learning now and for the future.
It is important that learning is made fun for young children, which is why we take advantage of the facilities in and around Birmingham. We also have our own mini-bus to take children on outings. All children have their own learning journal that takes them through their journey at nursery.
About Us
Jumping Jacks Day Nursery is a family-run setting with a strong reputation for high-quality childcare. Owned by Mrs Jackie Phull (BA, EYPS, JP), the nursery is located on Balaclava Road in Kings Heath, just off the High Street.
Our location allows us to support both the local community and commuting families. The nursery has been fully refurbished to a high standard, providing a safe, welcoming environment where children can learn, play and thrive with confidence.
Ofsted
We are registered with Ofsted and regularly inspected, with our latest report available in reception. Key information, including our policies and monthly newsletter, is also displayed for parents.
Our reception area features notice boards with menus, updates and staff information. All team members are highly trained and receive ongoing professional development in line with Ofsted recommendations.

Security
Security is of great importance. Access to the nursery is gained via the front. Doors are opened by experienced members of staff and all visitors must sign the visitor’s book on entry to the nursery giving full contact details.
The children stay within their own individual rooms, however, there are plenty of opportunities during the day for groups to mix.
Promoting British Values
In accordance with the Department for Education, we embed British Values into our daily practice and the EYFS framework to help children become kind, confident, and respectful citizens:
Democracy:
We encourage children to value each other’s views. For example, by showing hands to choose a storybook or sharing ideas during circle time.
Rule of Law:
We help children understand their own and others’ behaviour and its consequences, helping them distinguish right from wrong through clear, fair boundaries.
Individual Liberty:
We support children to develop a positive sense of themselves. We provide a safe environment where they can take risks, make their own choices, and express their feelings
Mutual Respect & Tolerance:
We celebrate diversity by learning about different faiths, cultures, and traditions. We teach children to treat others with kindness and respect, regardless of their background.
